How we do it
All our portfolio companies go through the same steps from idea until a potential exit in the future

Validation
We pick one from our list of vetted ideas for target market and begin validation process to ensure it will be worth our effort. The trigger for this process can be the idea itself or the person we will co-found a company together.
We aim to confirm there is sizeable and scalable business to seek after and there is customer interest indicating possibility to reach early product–market fit for the concept we build around the idea. To do this, we test customer willingness to use and willing to pay; study technical feasibility, business model, unit economics, market dynamics and regulations; have an understanding of potential investor interest and many more dimensions. Decison making during this process is 100% based on quantifiable metrics and split over several checkpoints, what we call gates.

Building
We assemble talent and set-up a compact launching team to execute 0-1 company building efforts for a validated concept. We provide initial funding to the team in addition to unlimited support to develop the product, to acquire early customers and to get its next round of funding as fast as humanly possible after company establishment.
We typically keep the company in stealth mode until the end of this step.

Scaling
We relentlessly continue our support in growing our portfolio companies, securing their future funding needs and approaching escape velocity.
Every company obviously needs different approaches to execute growth. Central studio team helps our portfolio companies plan and execute these activities by providing resources, know-how and necessary network connections. During this stage, we want to ensure that growth is sustainable, while technology and operations are scalable enough to deliver the value proposition as intended.
We also ensure that all our portfolio companies are sufficiently capitalised to execute their growth activities with necessary investments to team, product and customers. Although each company is unique – as a general guideline – we aim all our companies to reach series A funding stage after 2-3 years of establishment.

Spin-out
We expect our portfolio companies to leave the nest around the time when they reach series A funding and build their own self-sufficient teams. But we obviously maintain our support until potential exit in the future.
Based on specifics of the company, we can fully or partially take care of some business functions through our central team or our network of service providers.
Compound enables entrepreneurship in Turkey and we want to encourage more people to choose entrepreneurship path.
